Itch is time!! v0.1.0


The wait is over!

Im super happy to present the re-release of this project on itch, but this time with a playable web version!

I really would've loved to upload this version earlier, but due to GameMaker (the engine of this game) not being able to export to HTML for free, I just advanced the game with Windows executable in mind, so when I was finally able to export to web there were a lot of different errors and problems, but hopefully they should be fixed by now*

In any case, for any of you that haven't known this game before, this is a project Im working on and has been playable from GX Games for a while, though Im not sure if I'll keep using that site. The game is an RPG with turn-based combat, and it is about a girl who wakes up without memories in an unknown place and must find her way through with a single lead about what's going on.

I hope you find it entertaining and interesting enough to come back whenever a new update arrives. Happy gaming!

*The current target for this game is Windows executable, so it is possible that errors could appear while playing on browser.

Changelog version 0.1.0:

  • Main Menu:
    • Changed the looks of the main menu. Hope you like it.
  • MEM (Overworld):
    • Increased the moving speed a little.
  • Overworld:
    • Added some interactable objects here and there, to help add immersion and some comedy.
    • Added "Rest points" (see below)
  • (NEW) Save/Checkpoint System:
    • It was added. Lol. It was about time, right?
    • You can now manually save the game progress by interacting with the "Rest points".
  • (NEW) Game Over:
    • Now after your HP reaches 0 in battle, you'll get to see the new game over screen.
    • In here, you can choose one of the following options:
      • Load from the last checkpoint/save. 
      • Go back to the main menu, losing all the progress.
  • Magic System:
    • Changed the HUD of the Magic Energy. Now instead of circles that get bigger, its a bar that fills on segments. Should make the HUD feel more consistent.
    • Changed the way Magic Energy was obtained, kinda. Before, certain actions inmediately gave Energy, now those same actions create physical and visible Magic Energy, which will travel to the HUD, and they'll only be applied once the reach it.
  • Items:
    • (NEW) Small Cheese. Don't ask where the rats keep them.
    • (NEW) Cake Knife. Oddly enough, this is a piece of cake in the shape of a knife!
    • (NEW) Arcane Tonic. Years of research provided us with this fine MP potion.
  • Shop NPC:
    • Added 30+ new dialogues to the interactions with the shopkeeper, for added personality and fun.
  • Pause Menu:
    • Completely changed the way it worked, code-wise.
    • Volume settings appearance was changed from a percentage number to a bar.
    • Controls screen/remapping has been disabled for the time being.
