Locked in the Doorgeon
Made for the Brackeys Game Jam 2024.1! ("What's behind the Door")
You've been cursed with "Heartlock", and your only hope is to kill the boss of the Doorgeon to get rid of it!
Traverse through The Doorgeon, picking up multiple weapon upgrades as you go deeper, but be careful, since the Heartlock curse makes your life tied to the keys you've got!
Controls:
- A and D to move
- SPACE to jump
- E to interact
- Left Mouse to shoot
- R (or Right Mouse) to reload
- ESC (or TAB) to pause
Development
- The engine used for this game was GameMaker
- The sprites were made within the engine
- The audio assets (music and sfx) were made with FamiStudio
- Everything was made by myself.

Fun and simple. Didn't make it to the boss. Pistol seems OP. Bullet damage upgrade didn't seem to do much.
Thanks for playing! There's a lot of balancing to be done in the future, as I've read in feedback. And don't worry for not reaching the end, I don't think even I have hahahaha, the game's pretty difficult as of now.
